Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Light and Lamb's websites and services (the "Service"), operated from the United States. By creating an account, placing an order, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. What the Service is

Light and Lamb creates personalized picture books: using the story selections, names, notes, and photos you provide, we generate custom story text and illustrations featuring your children's likeness, let you review and revise the result, and — once you approve it — print and ship a hardcover book to a US address through our printing partner.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of the children featured in your book, or have the guardian's express permission.
• Sign-in uses one-time email links; you are responsible for keeping your email account secure and for activity that occurs under your Light and Lamb account.
• You agree to provide accurate information, including a deliverable US shipping address.

3. Your content and license to us

• You own your uploads. Photos, names, and notes you provide remain yours.
• You grant us a limited, revocable license to store and process your uploads solely to provide the Service: generating, moderating, displaying, printing, and shipping your book. We do not use your uploads to train AI models and do not share them for marketing. Deleting a photo or your account revokes this license (except records the law requires us to keep).
• You represent that you have the right to upload every photo you provide and that featuring the pictured children in a book is done with the consent of their parent or legal guardian.

4. Your book

• Once your order is complete, you may use your book's story text and illustrations for personal, non-commercial purposes — reading, gifting, and ordering reprints. Commercial use (e.g., reselling the content) requires our written permission.
• We may keep your finished book on file so you can order reprints; you may request its deletion at any time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload photos of anyone without the right to do so, or photos containing nudity, violence, or other inappropriate content;
• Submit names, notes, or change requests intended to produce harmful, hateful, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate material;
• Attempt to bypass our safety and moderation systems, probe or disrupt the Service, or use it to violate any law.

All uploads and requests pass automated safety screening; content that fails is rejected and logged. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with a refund of any undelivered order at our discretion.

6. The creative process, revisions, and approval

• Story text and illustrations are generated by AI from your inputs. Results vary; that variability is part of the product. Illustrations are artistic renderings of your children's likeness, not photographic reproductions.
• You review every page before printing and may request up to three (3) changes per book.
• Approval is final. When you approve your book for printing, you confirm you have reviewed it and accept it as-is; it cannot be changed, canceled, or refunded afterward except as described in Section 7.

7. Pricing, payment, refunds, and shipping

• Prices are shown at checkout and charged in USD via Stripe. Current pricing: $45 per book, including three stories, revisions, printing, and US shipping.
• Before approval: if we have not yet begun generating your book, you may request a full refund. If your book has been generated but you are unsatisfied after using your revisions, contact us — we want you to love your book and will work with you (additional revisions, regeneration, or a refund at our discretion).
• After approval: printing begins, and orders cannot be canceled or refunded — except that books that arrive damaged, defective, or misprinted will be reprinted and reshipped at no cost (or refunded). Report issues within 30 days of delivery with photos to hello@lightandlamb.co.
• We currently ship only to addresses in the United States. Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees; we are not responsible for carrier delays or errors in the address you provide.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service — including our websites, story templates, software, and branding — is owned by Light and Lamb and protected by law. Except for the personal-use rights in Section 4, no rights in the Service are transferred to you. Scripture passages referenced in our stories are drawn from public-domain texts.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT GENERATED CONTENT WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS BEYOND THE REVIEW-AND-APPROVAL PROCESS DESCRIBED ABOVE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIGHT AND LAMB WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR GOODWILL, AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE ORDER GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Light and Lamb against claims arising from your breach of these Terms — including uploading photos you did not have the right to use.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may instead bring qualifying claims in small-claims court.

13. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms. For material changes we will update the date above and notify account holders by email; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and contact us about any open orders.
